FOR BRANDS AND PLACES

Music for films, hotels and events.

The scope can include a full track or shorter edits for a promotional film, campaign, event or hotel film. I can quote only after seeing the material and knowing where and how the music will be used.

I’m not taking new commissions at the moment.

A full track or shorter edits

A commission can cover a full track for a film or event. If you need shorter advertising edits, an instrumental version or additional file formats, we agree on them in the brief.

The words belong to the song.

I do not sell pre-written lyrics from a catalogue. If a song needs words, I write them for the music and for the film, campaign or event it will accompany. Before production, we agree the subject and whether the brand or venue should be named directly.

Music for a hotel

For a hotel film, I look at the property and footage from the shoot. If filming has not started, I work from the brief, photographs and information about the place.

A track can be licensed for one film. Shorter edits for related material can be added to the agreement.

Fee and rights

The writing and production fee is quoted separately from the licence. The licence fee depends on the term, territory, media and exclusivity.

Public performance or playback may require separate licences and royalty payments. The written agreement defines the rights before work begins.

What a brief needs to include

A useful brief covers one project and includes reference material, the planned launch date, intended uses and available budget.

I cannot quote without a schedule and intended use.
